Understanding the occupational and job choices that teachers make in their careers and the role of institutional factors in determining the allocation of teachers across schools is fundamental to crafting policies to improve the quality and distribution of teachers in the workforce. CEDR currently has a project focused on this issue. CEDR researchers have also made a number of important contributions to our knowledge about teacher labor markets.
